World Arthritis Day: a social media thunderclap
This year, to support our World Arthritis Day campaign, we teamed up with the world’s largest crowd speaking platform – Thunderclap. Our aim was to unite arthritis patients and organisations across Europe and encourage them to support the cause.
The campaign provided an opportunity to amplify the voices of individual arthritis patients and organisations by creating a controlled blast on social media on 12th October 2014.
Using a mix of editorial content and Facebook advertising for promotion, we secured 427 supporting organisations (target: 100) that shared our awareness message with their online communities, reaching over 160,000 people.
Also as a result of the Thunderclap campaign, the World Arthritis Day’s Facebook community saw unprecedented fan acquisition and grew by 14% in less then a month.
