Jargon Watch: HIPPO Syndrome

October 18, 2009 | Written by Ged Carroll

I was attending the Echo Research 20th anniversary thought leadership seminar when I heard Rita Clifton of Interbrand mention the HIPPO Syndrome. Clifton mentioned meeting people from Google who apparently said all the data that they are sitting on means that they never are likely to succumb to HIPPO syndrome. HIPPO in this case means ‘HIghest Paid Person’s Opinion’.

They say that like its a bad thing? I am sure Steve Jobs would beg to differ. This is cross-posted from my personal blog.
